How the hinges on Featherbuilt wheel well cabinets go together and adjust, for Sprinter, Transit and ProMaster. Each cabinet uses two or three hinge types. They look alike, so match each one to its door before you install it.

Which hinge goes on which door
- Blind (blind corner) hinge: Component Door on the electrical cabinet; Tank Door on the water cabinet
- Half overlay hinge: Fuse Panel Door on the electrical cabinet
- Inset (soft close) hinge: Battery Door on the electrical cabinet; Plumbing Door on the water cabinet
Each hinge kit has 2 hinges, 2 × 3mm hinge plates, 2 × 3mm hinge cup spacers, 4 × 5/8" countersunk screws (hinges to the door) and 4 × 1/2" countersunk screws (hinge plates to the cabinet). Open one kit at a time.
Install
- Line each hinge plate up with its pre-drilled holes in the cabinet and screw it in with the 1/2" Phillips countersunk screws.
- Set a hinge cup spacer around the hinge cup hole on the door, then screw the hinge in with the 5/8" Phillips countersunk screws.
Attach and release a door
To attach: set the hinge on its hinge plate and push the back of the hinge arm down. When you hear a click, it's secure.
To release: press the lever under the hinge arm.
Adjust
Adjust the hinges so every door closes and latches and the gaps (reveals) around the doors are even:
- Side: turn the front screw to increase or decrease the door overlay (±2 mm).
- Height: turn the cam screw on the mounting plate to move the door up or down (±2 mm).
- Depth: turn the rear spiral cam screw to set the door gap (+3 mm / −2 mm).
