Transit Interior Trim Kit Installation Guide – Featherbuilt

How to install the Transit interior trim kit (2015 to 2024 Ford Transit). The front kit covers the driver and passenger B-pillars and the bulkhead; the rear kit covers the D-pillar trim around the rear doors. Every step is written out below, and the videos walk through the front and rear trim.

What you'll need

Cordless drill
1/8" drill bit (provided) for pre-drilling the trim flanges
23/64" drill bit and a rivet nut gun with a 1/4-20 mandrel for the D-pillar trim
Plastic trim tool (or your fingers) to work the weatherstrip over the passenger B-pillar
Thread locker such as Loctite for the bolts
Automotive primer for any bare metal

Front kit

B-pillar, driver side

Fit the B-pillar trim over the factory foam pillar.
Pre-drill the flange with the provided 1/8" drill bit.
Secure it with the 2 provided 1" self-tapping screws.

B-pillar, passenger side

Fit the B-pillar trim over the factory foam pillar.
Use your finger or a plastic trim tool to work the weatherstrip over the trim edge.
Pre-drill the flange with the provided 1/8" drill bit.
Secure it with self-tapping screws into the flange.

Bulkhead

Fit the bulkhead between the B-pillars and over the headliner.
Pre-drill through the headliner and the ceiling strut with the provided 1/8" drill bit.
Secure it with 3 to 5 of the 1-1/4" self-tapping screws.
Peel the film off the double-stick tape and press the bulkhead up into the roof.

Rear kit: D-pillar trim

Fit the overhead piece and the verticals, then mark the hole locations.
Drill the marked holes to 23/64" and install 1/4-20 rivnuts.
Fit the overhead piece in place and secure it with 2 of the 1/4-20 bolts.
Fit the verticals in place and secure each one with 5 of the 1/4-20 bolts, on both the passenger and driver sides.
Install 1 of the 3/8-16 bolts in the factory threaded hole on each side.

Put a drop of Loctite on every bolt, and prime any bare metal with automotive primer.
